Freshly Made Sketches #367

Hi all and welcome to this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #367. This is also a Design Team call from the FMS Team. For more information on this group please visit their blog at: http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/

The sketch challenge design was created by Karren Johnson:

I immediately thought of my new rectangle stitched framelits that are available January 3rd to customers from the Occasions catalog. I also wanted to make a Thank You card and keep the design simple. I went with a gold embossed design from the Artistically Asian stamp set and a clean "Thank You" sentiment from the "A Big Thank You" set.

Using Shimmery white paper (best ever for ink blending!), Stampin' sponges cut into wedges and 2 Stampin' Up! ink colors: Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight, I ink blended in a circular motion until I was happy with the depth of color blending. This technique is fun in that you can create a very subtle background or keep blending for a striking background.

Using 2 of the framelits I ran the design through the Big Shot and then flipped the design so that the ink blending was split. I used fun foam to layer the center design and cut the sentiment out of a small label framelit from the Bottles & Bubbles Framelits. Also edged the small label with a bit of the Vegas Gold.

Finally I splattered with Vegas Gold shimmer paint and added a few gold metallic pearls.

Thank you for staying with me and if you would like to purchase any of the items...here are the links!
