Sometimes there just isn't enough time to do all you have planned! As mentioned before, I am participating in a local craft show next weekend and this is now crunch time.
I still wanted to participate in Freshly Made Sketches Challenge 365 (http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/) and Facebook's Colour Inkspiration Challenge #46, so I thought I would combine the two into one submittal. But which comes first, the layout or the colors? In this case for me, it was the layout.
Here are the challenges:
I bought the stamp set "Let the Good Times Roll" a while ago because I liked the sentiments, but today I wanted to do some simple stamping with the challenge colors and thought this would be the prefect set. This is a photopolymer stamp set and once primed (with Versamark), they stamp like a dream. I love that I can see through them and easily position them with a clear block.
I had to mask the grasses with post-it notes since they would be the objects in the front. To create a mask, simply stamp the image on the sticky part of a small post-it note and fussy cut it out. After stamping the images on the card stock, lay the mask(s) over the images and stamp your next image. In this case it was the roller coaster. Once you pull off the mask, that object(s) stays in the front and is not stamped over with the background set i.e.the grasses stayed in front and didn't have blue roller coaster lines through it because it was protected by the post-it note mask. It all sounds more complicated than it is.
I hope you enjoy this simply stamped card. It was fun to make!

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
