Welcome to my blog post for the CAS Christmas January 2019 Card Challenge - Blue & Silver!
To define "CAS" for the challenge here is what the Challenge Team has posted on their website:
CAS Definition
- clean (uncluttered) cohesive design
- must include white "or open" space (no pattern)
- minimal layers and embellishments
I used one of my favorite blues, Blueberry Bushel, and created by own background paper with the wonderful "Buffalo Check" stamp set. The deer and star necklace were die cut with the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies which are on the list to be continued next year. There are so many possibilities with this die and stamp set (Dashing Deer). You could easily make all your Christmas/winter cards with this one set!
This is a really simple to create Christmas card:
-All white card stock, die cut with my continued favorite, Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies;
-The flurry of stars background was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Power;
-The deer die cuts were popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals and set on the silver stars;
-The "Merry Christmas" sentiment, a clean, block font from the "At Home With You" stamp set, was stamped in Blueberry Bushel in the left hand corner;
-Finally, the center was popped up with fun foam.
The inside is a sweet generic statement from the "Hearts Come Home" stamp set. This may be my most used Christmas set and I don't know if it will be continued in the new annual catalog in June 2019. Fingers crossed! The snowflake/star in the corner is also from the "Star of Light" stamp set.
I hope you play along with these challenges...the plus side is that you will have many of your Christmas cards done by December!
