Hi all! Welcome to my blog post for 2 challenges rolled into one card! Freshly Made Sketches #375, sketch challenge, along with CAS Christmas Fe. 2019 "Peace."
This sketch was a bit of a challenge for sure, but I thought a Christmas tree was actually the large triangle shape. Had to use my oldest and most favorite Stampin' Up! set - "Lovely as a Tree" from 2001. Still available but now in clear mount, too. Back in 2001 I also think there were only wooden block stamps.
I stamped the tree with Shaded Spruce ink and the trunk and ground with Early Espresso ink onto Whisper White paper. The Sentiment is from the "Star of Light" set. Cut them both into a triangle shape and added silver embossing powder on the edges with Versamark ink. I used a small set of 3 stars from the same "Star of Light" set and added silver embossed stars to the tree and the sentiment triangle. Some messy nest silver metallic thread on the left mimicked the sketch leaves. It is layered onto a base of whisper White which was run through the "Softly Falling" embossing folder.
The inside was simple finished with the same "Star of Light" set and the corners were rounded with the Detailed Trip Punch.
It's hard to pick up the shine of the silver on camera, but it is a really pretty compliment to the Shaded Spruce color. Interested in recreating this card? Just click on any of the links below to go directly to my Stampin' Up! shop open all the time! Thanks for staying to the end.

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
