Welcome to the February 2019 Demo Blog Hop! Our theme is: "Keeping It In the Lines. Projects for February should feature your favorite line art stamps and coloring method from the Occasions, SAB or Annual Catalog. You project can be a card, 3D or mixed media item. Anything you want as long as you color it!"
I decided to use my favorite coloring method, watercoloring, with the rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set. I wanted to have the rose trimmed on the right side and popped up over a background design.
To start I gold heat-embossed both the rose image and the grid background onto Stampin' Up! watercolor paper. The actual coloring was started with Stamp 'n Write markers and a watercolor brush, but because I wanted more depth of color, I switched to Brilliant Red Brusho and Merry Merlot re-inkers. Always try to leave white or light areas.
Once dry, I trimmed the rose on the right side creating a slight curve. The background was watercolored in the same manner but with Pear Pizzazz and Granny Apple Green.
Both pieces were cut with the largest Rectangle Stitched Framelit. The back of the rose image was covered with Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered to the background piece. Next, the unit was adhered to Mossy Meadow card stock with Tear & Tape Adhesive which works well to hold watercolor paper. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment using the Stamparatus. I decided against "bells & whistles" and let the image be the only focal point.
Please continue on the hop for I am sure you will see some amazing work and great ideas:
