TGIF Color Challenge #197 & #SFOPPFebruaryChallenge

Today I have a quick blog post to enter 2 challenges - one for my Stampin' Up! Team,  Stamping For Others, combined with the TGIF Challenge #197. My team challenge is to make 11 different cards with specific requirements each. One of them is to use a Stampin' Up! color combination and it just so happens that the TGIF Challenge this week was a perfect color combination of Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch and Berry Burst.
I have been wanting to watercolor the fountain from the Flowing Fountain stamp set. Traditionally I believe it would be colored in somber colors, like grey or sand. I thought I'd brightened things up and use the challenge colors. Basically with these 3 colors you can create the entire color wheel. Greens with the Coastal Cabana and Pineapple Punch, oranges with the Berry Burst and Pineapple Punch and purples with Coastal Cabana and Berry Burst.
The image was stamped on Stampin' Up! watercolor paper using the Stamparatus and Sahara Sand ink. I colored with a watercolor paint brush, water and re-inkers with a wet-on-wet technique. This allowed the blending and mixing of colors to obtain many shades, although only using 3 colors.

I finished the card by running through the Big Shot with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. A few enamel dots from the Happiness Bloom Suite added the final touch.

Hope you enjoyed this different take on a image and if you are not a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, think about joining! The discount is great for quality products and the support of a team can't be beat!

Here are the products I used today available at my on-line shop 24/7. Please click on any image to link directly to it and thanks for sticking to the end!
