TGIF#198 and SFO Team Challenge DSP

Hi all and welcome to my blog for TGIF#198 sketch challenge combined with my Stampin' Up! demo team challenge to create 11 cards in the month of February with different themes. The theme for this card is "Use Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Annual Catalog."
I used the Wood Textures DSP (comes in 6 X 6 sheets) for the background, as well as, the heart shape and sentiment banner. I choose the rooster from the "Home to Roost" stamp set, available now during Sale-A-Bration free with a $50 purchase before tax and shipping, for my focal image.
After stamping with Memento black ink on Shimmery white, I colored the rooster with a damp watercolor brush. Using reinkers of Coastal Cabana, Pineapple Punch, Grapefruit Grove and Berry Burst I was careful not to wet the Memento Black Ink for it doesn't do well with water, unless you have used a clear embossing powder over it. (And I didn't!) Once dry, I fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.

The Pool Party background was cut out through the Big Shot with a circle from the "Stitched Shapes Framelits. The "Home to Roost" stamp set has a great font with the words "Just a Note" which I stamped repeatedly with Pool Party on the circle for some visual interest.
The "Wishing You Well" sentiment is from the "Wishing You Well" stamp set and fit perfectly in the area as shown in the sketch. I layered the heart DSP with a few Whisper White cardstock hearts to make a sturdier "chipboard" type heart.

I made 2 cards, the other one was slightly different but basically used all the same products,
Here they are side by side:
What do you think? Did I meet the challenges? I love the wood DSP for the background. It is a great jumping off point for a masculine card, too!
