Welcome to my blog post for Clean and Simple Watercolor Challenge - watercolor on vellum!
As a Stampin" Up! demonstrator, we can only show current product. This Rose Garden Thinlit Die is now available to purchase on the clearance rack for $18.60 (was $31.00)! It is a beautiful large die with 2 rose dies, a label die, a flower die and a leaf die. Many many techniques could be done with this set. Once it sells out, it's gone.
I ran the large rose with leaves images through the Big Shot with Whisper White Thick card stock and just kept the outline. I glued this outline to a piece of Vellum and fussy cut.
The coloring was done with re-inkers, a watercolor brush and very little water on the back of the piece. Vellum will warp with water so use just a touch. I used Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight for the rose and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. It is easy to add extra color to darken where you need it. Once dry, I set several large wooden blocks on it to flatten it out.
A few day later, I glued it to a Whisper White Thick A2 base which I had run through "Simple Stripes Textured Embossing Folder". I used Tombow Liquid Adhesive in tiny drops along the back of the image where you can see the white diecut lines. This way, no adhesive shows on the front.
The sentiment is from the "Beautiful Bouquet" stamp set. I gold heat embossed it on the label die from the "Rose Trellis" Thinlit die from the Occasions catalog. This item may be discontinued at the end of March!
