Welcome to my blog post for Fusion Card Challenge with the color - mint! Such a pretty color and with this inspiration picture the challenge was hard to resist:
I choose to use both the sketch and the color as my inspiration. Using Stampin' Up!'s "Dear Doily" stamp set I stamped a couple of the doily images with versamark on Whisper White card stock and white heat embossed. These images form a resist so I could ink blend over them. I used Coastal Cabana and Soft Sea Foam Green ink with Stampin' Sponges in a circular motion until blended into a soft mint color.
Next, I die cut out of Smoky Slate card stock one of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to create the banner across the top. I also cut one of the "Delicate Lace Edgelits" out of Coastal Cabana card stock and glued it to the bottom of the Smoky Slate banner, trimming off the sides. The word "Friend" was cut 3 times out of Coastal Cabana from the "Well Written Framelits" set and glued together with Tombow liquid adhesive. Forms a nice chipboard type sentiment.
The word "Sweet", stamped with Memento Black, is from the "Thoughtful Banners" set. The butterfly is from the "Butterfly Gala & Punch" set and colored with various reinkers.
The small bit of gold is a negative piece from the "Stained Glass Thinlits" that I had on my desk from a previous project. I have always loved that shape and was so glad I could use it!
Very pretty color and a great card for any occasion for that special friend. If you've enjoyed this card and would like to purchase any of the items from my online shop, please click on the images below. Thanks for sticking to the end!
