Hi all! Welcome to my blog post for Sunday Stamps Weekly Challenge #200! Here is the sketch challenge:
This is a great sketch and the design team created some beautiful samples. Click on the image above to go directly to the blog and the images.
I wanted to stick with the Silhouette Stamping technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's You Tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ln0oh9f5q8g. My previous blog post used the same technique but in a different layout:
Thank you, Jennifer for the continued inspiration.
I started with a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White Thick card stock. To create the silhouette - I stamped the flower image from the "Touches of Textures" stamp set with the Stamparatus and Memento Black ink several times to get a good image. I filled in any open areas with the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. Once that was done, I re-stamped with the Versamark ink pad the images and filled in the open areas with a Versamark pen (not Stampin' Up!) and heat set using Clear Embossing Powder.
Now for the fun part! I taped off an area to the right with Post-It-Tape. With Stampin' Sponges I ink-blended, in a circular motion, from the bottom to the top with Call Me Clover, Balmy Blue, Lemon Lime Twist and Pineapple Punch. I love how the colors overlap and create additional colors! Remove the Post-It-Tape and you have a beautiful, clean and crisp line of color. I simple stamped the dotted image from the "Swirly Frames" set with Memento Black ink. Lastly, I created a sentiment with the "Rectangle Stitched Framelits" using "To My Dear Friend" from the "Soft Sayings Card Kit". This kit has the most beautiful items....umm may use it for an upcoming blog!
To finish I adhered the panel to a A2 Basic Black card base with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.
A clean and simple card that could be re-created in many colors with almost any image. Perfect for a masculine card, birthday card, sympathy, get well, thinking of you...on and on! Always fun!
If you'd like to purchase any of these items, just click on the images below and thanks for sticking to the end! Happy 200th to SSC!!!
