Welcome to my blog post as Guest Designer for What Will You Stamp #213! WWYS team chooses a Stampin' Up! stamp set each week and offer the challenge to create a card with it. This is the wonderful stamp set that is this week's challenge:
There are so many occasions that this card would fit, but I choose to create a card just showing support. Mother/daughter in mind...I have 3 daughters so that was the perfect fit for me. I wanted the card to have a serious tone, not a lot of glitz and glam.
I used Smoky Slate Ink on Whisper White card stock and created the background with repeat stamping. Using a clear acrylic block with the sentiment "Lean on me" I just eyeballed the diagonal line and stamped repeatedly in a row.
I choose the center image with the mother/daughter stamp. Using Stampin' Up! watercolor paper and the Stamparatus, I stamped the image with Memento Black ink and let it dry. Next, using the wet-on-wet technique, I water-colored the image with re-inkers (as shown in the list below) using a small Silver watercolor brush. It only takes about a drop of each color to paint this whole image.
The finishing was done by cutting the watercolor image Highland Heather card stock with a Layering Circle Framelit. The sentiment was stamped below the image with Memento Black ink and the word "Support" was white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock, cut with a Rectangle Stitched Framelit. The silver heart is punched out from Silver Foil Sheets with the Dog Builder Punch. All popped up with dimensionals.
Thank you for visiting my blog and if you are a card maker, give the WWYS challenges a try!
