My daughter, Kristin, asked me to make 3 thank you cards for her. One masculine, one beachy and one bright and cheerful. I love to make cards which I can personalize to the recipient. This blog is about the bright & cheerful card. I combined the CAS Mix Up Challenge for May with the Inspire,Create,Challenge#043:
I used the Baby Wipe, Stamping and Die Cutting.
I never used the baby wipe technique so this was fun way to give it a try. Basically you use baby wipes as your stamp pad with reinkers. I laid several baby wipes into a plastic container and squeezed several drops of Pumpkin Pie, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade onto them:
This looks like a mess, but pretty effective. Instead of an ink pad, use the paper wipes with the ink with Clear Blocks and flowers from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I rolled the stamp around the edges into different colors to try and get a soft variety of color.
I was also trying out the striped floral flower from the Beautiful Promenade set, but wasn't happy with the results. I also save my rejects for I can die cut from then. See the 2 leaves like stems on this card with stripes? That is what I cut out from my "reject".
Gold glimmer paper and Gold Foil Sheets were used to die cut center of the flowers and the band holding the stems. As usual, I made 2 cards, each a little bit differently:
I have to say, I love a challenge, especially when I've never used the technique before and have some beautiful colors with which to work. I'll be posting the next 2 thank you cards soon!

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
