Freshly Made Sketches #392 - Back on Your Feet

Welcome friends to my blog post for Freshly Make Sketches Sketch Challenge #392:
I have a friend who has just had knee surgery and I thought this would be a perfect card for her. I stamped the sloth in Memento Black Ink on the new watercolor paper in the June 2019-2020 annual catalog for Stampin' Up!. For some reason I can never remember which ink to use when stamping an image and planning to watercolor. Well, it isn't Memento Black Ink! It reacts with water. I had to carefully paint with wet-on-wet technique, so that the lines didn't smudge too badly.
I had googled images of sloths, for I really had no idea what color they were. I saw quite a few grey and black images so that is what I went with. The sky is Balmy Blue - again wet-on-wet and very carefully around the black lines. I guess I'll remember now to use Stazon. I do like the new watercolor paper.
I stamped the inside and the envelope with a tree branch image from Rooted in Nature to coordinate with the tree branch on which the sloth is hanging.

I'll have to try this again with the correct black ink! It is a fun image, very unique and perfect for a leg injury or surgery.
