It's Christmas in July in the card making world and I created a colorful card inspired by May Park from her Online Card Class (https://www.onlinecardclasses.com/), Clean and Simple Holiday.
I really enjoy the challenges from the CAS series. This card is for CAS Christmas July 2019:
I loosely used the sketch challenge from Inspire.Create.Challenge #047:
Lastly, Crazy 4 Challenges had the simple theme of Christmas!
This was the first chance I had to use the new Pigment Sprinkles from Stampin' Up! They are similar to Brusho powder in that they are a dry, powder watercolor. Usually watercolor can be pale and dry back lighter. These pigments are so rich and colorful and easy to use! The Pigment Sprinkles come in a little jar with a flip top lid. It is like a small salt shaker.
I simply used a flat wet brush to draw a straight line of watercolor on Fluid 100 Watercolor paper as shown in this picture. I did not wet the paper first for I did not want too much of a blend. I want distinctive stripes. I sprinkled the powder into the round palette shown above and added a drop or two of water. There are 6 colors, but you can blend colors and/or use more water or less water to obtain many, many varieties of color.
The snowflakes were die cut with the Big Shot using the Seasonal Layers Dies with Whisper White card stock. This set is so versatile for all seasons:
The card was simple to put together. I used the largest layering circle die to cut a circle in Whisper White Thick card stock 4" X 51/4". That piece was then run through the Big Shot again with the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder. Definitely one of my favorites, for a beautiful soft linen look. I adhered this on top of the watercolor striped piece which was cut to be just larger than the circle with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.
This piece was popped up with fun foam, again I usually use Tombow Liquid Adhesive for 2 reasons: 1) you have a little bit of time to adjust your piece 2) It stands the test of time. I find tape runner dries out over time and pops apart.
The sentiment is from the Lots of Cheer stamp set white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock. It was die cut with a Stitched Label Die which looks like a ticket! The snowflakes were adhered with Tombow and a few Rhinstone Basic Jewels finished it off!
The sentiment from the inside is from the Dashing Deer stamp set and I use a piece of Whisper White cut with the Rectangle Stitched die. One more snowflake finished the inside.
Thanks for visiting today. Very hot here in North Carolina so fun to think about Christmas. Here are the links to all the products I used today from Stampin' Up!:

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
