NC Demos July 2019 Blog Hop

Welcome to my blog post for July 2019 North Carolina Stampin' Up! Demos!  Here is our challenge:
1 Go find a project you love and that inspires you. It can be a card, decor item, 3D item, tag, gift bag. Whatever you like!
2. Make the project EXACTLY like it is.
3. Then make a second project inspired by your CASEed project. Make it your own. Change the paper, stamp set, colors, embellishments etc....
My inspiration came from the fabulous Laura Bassen! Laura loves clean lines, graphic style and rainbow colors. And so do I!

She created this card (Amore Laurafadora: Pattern with Paper Strips). If you click on the image it will take you to her You Tube video.
To recreate Laura's card exactly, as per the challenge, I used a variety of Stampin' Up! card stock colors, cut into 1/4" strips. These were adhered to a piece of Whisper White cardstock which was covered with Snail Adhesive. I tried to keep the colors as to close Laura's as possible.
Once all adhered, I trimmed the edges to be even. Next the strips were cut into a 2" wide strip, turned and cut again at 2"s. This give you a perfect 2" square.  I cut all the paper this way. Then I took 2 of the 2" squares and cut them diagonally in half and cut that piece in again in half, too. If you are a quilter (I am) this card will appeal to you.
Following Laura's You Tube, I popped the pieces up on Stampin' Dimensionals and created a pattern leaving a tiny space between the pieces. The sentiment is from the Colorful Season stamp set. The stamp and die set is one of my most used sets! It has a little something for every card, every season.
"Thinking of You" was white heat embossed on Basic Black card stock and die cut with a Rectangle Stitched Die. This I adhered directly with Tombow Liquid Adhesive in the middle of the design so the card wouldn't be too thick.
For Part 2 of the challenge, I did the same steps but with a few different colors. I cut the 2-2" squares the same way and created a quilt design on a piece of Sea Foam Green card stock which was originally cut out with a Rectangle Stitch Die. The card base is A2 size in Pear Pizzazz.
I used the same sentiment but adhered it to a scrap of the paper strips.
Here is a look at the inside using the same scraps of the paper strips.
Here are my two cards side by side. The white one on the right is the card CASEd from Laura and the green card on the left is my interpretation of her card.
I hope you enjoyed this challenge. I know I did!Whisper White 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock

Please continue on the blog hop to the NC Demos listed below. Enjoy their creative work!
