Fab Friday 171 Birds of a Feather

Hi friends! I am continuing with my journey using the Birds of a Feather Stampin' Up! stamp set. Christmas birdies for the Fab Friday #171 sketch challenge:
Here is the set with all its cuties:
Birds of a Feather

This was just a fun card to make and color. I like to stamp images and then color them while watching TV with the family. I stamped this first on Whisper White card stock using Memento Black Ink.
To color, I used Stampin' Blends (alcohol markers) in various shade of yellow, red and greens. Once dry, I added a few details with silver and white gel pens just to create some patterns. I fussy cut each chick with our Paper Snips.
I used the new Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the white hat bands and the pom pom. You simple add it with the nozzle from the bottle and then heat set. Do not put it on the ink, for it will run. Just in the open space. Once heated, it puffs up for fun texture!
To create the background, I used post-it notes to mask a straight line. Next using 1/6 of a Stampin' Sponge I gently ink blended Shaded Spruce in the background. The chicks are standing on a piece of the Follow Your Art Washi Tape layered with a thin piece of Basic Black card stock.
The stars were made with Follow Your Art Washi Tape which was layered onto Whisper White card stock and then punched out with the Twinkle Builder Punch. I love the sentiment from the set. Perfect for a family Christmas card.
