Hi friends! Well another week has rolled around and I have a fun challenge card I made for the Color Throwdown:
Just 3 colors: 2 purples and a green (and a neutral). Umm...not sure why I thought of my new Trinity Stamp polar bear, but I did and am really happy with the way the card developed.
I stamped the bear and cup with Scrapbook.com Hybrid Black ink which can be used with either watercolors or alcohol markers onto Bristol Smooth paper.
I used 3 Kuretake Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers: Light Violet, Violet and Light Green. Zig's are watercolor and work very well with Bristol Smooth paper.
The coloring went very quickly using a dampened Silver Black Velvet 6 watercolor brush. I like to color during my lunch hour and bring a portable cup (linked below) for water to use with my Silver brush.
Once dry, I used the coordinating die and I ran the images through my Big Shot. It even cut out the ice skating lines which gives the image a great dimensional look. I cut a small slit between the mittens and slipped in the mug.
The card base is A2 side folding made with Neenah 110lb. and the top is from MFT's Green Room. Using 2 of Kat Scrappiness' Cross-Stitched Rectangle dies, I cut both the Green Room card stock and another piece of white. Next, I white heat embossed Stampendous' Cling Winter Blizzard stamp on the smaller white card front to give some movement in the background. Using the same Nuvo Detail Glacier White Embossing Power, I also created the sentiment. All were popped up on the front with Scrapbook.com's Foam Squares and Circles.
The inside was the simple "Have an ice day" in the fun typewriter front that Trinity Stamps likes to use.
Well that's it for this quick card made for ctd569. Some unusual colors for a Christmas card, but I like it!
Thank for staying with me to the end and if you'd like to check out any of the products I've used for this card they are linked here:

Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible.
