MFT Huge Hugs for Color Throwdown #573 & FMS 415

Hi friends! Still crafting for Christmas? I still am and will be to the last minute. Always one more thing to do...

But today I am submitting a card for 2 challenges, one sketch and one color:

You've seen me participate in these 2 challenges several times. I really enjoy both of them. If you feel yourself stuck in a rut and you've lost your mojo, give a challenge a try. There are many of them, all different styles, colors and mediums. You can really find one to suite your style.
I just received this new stamp/die from My Favorite Things called You're My Person. It reminded me of my sister. I only have 1 sister so this was just perfect. The Huge Hugs die cut can be used separately so the letters can be combined in other ways: "UGH"? I have to think of a card to use that!

I used Distress Inks on my Waffle Flower Water Media Mat to watercolor the images on Bristol Smooth card stock. The Color Throwdown colors were Lime Green, Hot Pink and White. I used Distress Ink, dabbed it on the mat and picked up the color with my Black Velvet watercolor brush with a light amount of water.

I have a new Christmas 6 X 6 card stock pad from Pink and Main and this paper was perfect for the letters. The letters were cut 4 times out of white card stock, glued together, and the top layer is the Pink and Main paper.

I was afraid the letters would wash out against white paper, so I ink blended with my Stamp Market blending tools. They are great for blending leaving a very soft layer of color. No weird lines. To line up the letters, I used the negative from the Huge Hugs and just popped in the letters with a bit of Gina K Connect glue.

The inside of the card is from Scrapbook.com's Christmas Wishes stamp set. A small set, but some really good general verses.
