I really enjoy making Clean & Layered cards and was inspired by the gingham plaid pillows, the bright red, white snowflakes and the pop of green.
I just love the stamp/die set from Waffle Flower, Oversized Merry. Clean and Simple in its own way and the die word Merry can be used with all kinds of papers: glittered, watercolored, scrapbook, ink-blended, etc.
I stamped Right At Home's Gingham Background with Catherine Pooler's Midnight ink using my MISTI. It is a really strong dark black and I knew it would show well on red card stock. Once it was totally dry, I used an Embossing Buddy to run powder all over the panel. Next, I stamped the snowflakes, one and at time, with Scrapbook.com's White Pigment Ink. I sprinkled Nuvo White Detailed Embossing powder over the white while it was still wet. I find you get a much whiter image using white pigment ink rather than Versamark. I heat them a few at a time.
Next, I ran the die cut "Merry" through my Big Shot 3 times using Neenah Solar White 110 lb. card stock. I glued the 3 pieces together with Gina K. connect glue so that a nice thick chipboard-like piece was created. I adhered it to the front at an angle.
Lastly, I stamped the word Christmas on green cardstock the same way I did the snowflakes. Nice white image. The word was cut out with an Avery Elle's Sentiments die.
The inside sentiment is from Scrapbook.com's Holly Jolly sentiments. A very generic sentiment good to send to anyone!
Well, I hope you've enjoyed this card and follow the Design Team and they create each month. Or how about playing along? Thanks for sticking to the end and all products are shown in the links below:
That is beautiful! I love how those embossed snowflakes really pop against the red/black. Pinned.
