Welcome to The Card Concept Challenge #130 for St. Patty's Day. The holidays just comes around too fast, don't they? I am just getting over Christmas!
For this challenge, I went with a Clean and Layered Design and was inspired by the cream colored jars, the truck, the black background lines and of course, the shamrocks!
My card base and top layer are from MFT's Whip Cream Heavyweight card stock. Smooth and creamy and perfect on which to stamp. I used Hero Arts' Tribal Stripes Bold Prints background stamp with Scrapbook.com's Sugar Cookie Hybrid Ink (Tan 1) for a soft subtle lined background on the front. Jillian Vance's Basic rectangle die was perfect to straighten out the edges and leave a crisp embossed border all around the card.
The star of the show is from Honey Bee Stamps/Honey Cuts Little Pickup Paper Piecing. All the pieces were run through my Big Shot machine with cream colored card stock. Using Scrapbook.com's ink blending tool, I gave all the edges a darkening up with Distress Ink's Vintage Photo. The tires were cut from black card stock and Silver Metallic Paper. Everything else was either glued together using Gina K. Connect glue or popped up with Scrapbook.com's Square Adhesives. A couple of left over pieces of the cream card stock created a perfect landing zone for the truck!
The shamrocks are cut with Taylored Expressions' Shamrock die - it includes 3 different sizes. It was perfect for this card. Previously I watercolored a random piece of watercolor paper with greens and teals. Not even sure what I used. Could have been re-inkers. I used this piece to cut all different sizes of shamrocks, but only used the small ones for the front of the card. Some are adhered flat and some with foam adhesives to give more dimension. I really love it when I can use up bits and bobs from my stash.
The sentiment is from Brutus Monroe's Sharon's Script which I have used many times. This scripty font and sentiments makes it so versatile, too. This one is a keeper!
The finishing touches are from Pretty Pink Posh's Celebration Confetti Mix. I only used silver, although there are gold flat embellishments in the mix, too.
A few more of the die cut shamrocks were used inside. No sentiment was added, so that a lengthy note could be written or added when the need arises.
Thanks for visiting today. Have fun with this challenge, check out all the Design Team's fabulous creations and we'll look for you at The Card Concept!

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
