I love this challenge! The Twelve Days of Christmas is so reminiscent for me since I spent several years hand painting 3 sets of 12 ornaments, front and back, for this exact theme! As some of you may know, I have been a Decorative Painter for many years. I have 3 daughters and each year paint an ornament for each of them (started in 1991). So when Lynne Andrews came out with her book in 2007, with the 12 Days of Christmas theme, I knew I had to paint 3 sets. 24 were on porcelain and 12 on wood. Lynne's work is wonderful and so detailed. I've attached a link here to her website if you'd like to see her work.
Thank you CAS Christmas for this challenge!
Never-Before-Used-Schtuff is such a great challenge. How much of it do we all have? I went with this Penny Black set purchased about the same time I was painting the ornaments. At that time I had an idea that I was going to make ornaments with them somehow, but never did. Umm...seems to happen a lot! The images are so cute...I need to use break out NBUS more!
I went with the 3 French hens and stamped them 3 times in a row on to Ranger's Inkssential Watercolor paper with Versafine Black Ink using my MISTI. The watercolor paint I used is from Altenew's 24 half pan set as I have shown in previous blogs.
The inside sentiment is from Avery Elle's Alpine Christmas set. More NBUS, but I actually just recently purchase it. I bought the matching die, too since I thought all the images could be used multiple ways.
So I am Sending Christmas Cheer to you all in August and getting a good jump start on my 2020 Christmas cards!

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
