MFT Summer School #2 Rainbow

Welcome to my post for Class #2 of My Favorite Things Summer School - Rainbow!

Who doesn't love a rainbow card in any shape or manner? I wanted to use my MFT's Big Balloons Stencil:
I started with Simon Hurley Stark White Card Stock for its brightness and ability to blend colors. I used 6 Distress Inks (shown below) and my Wendy Vecchi Make Art Station with Scrapbook.com's Blending Tools with Foam Applicators. The Make Art Station holds the stencil perfectly, so it is not necessary to use a spray adhesive.  I am not a fan of spray adhesives - 2 reasons - one, I have to walk downstairs and go outside to spray; two, it remains sticky and harder to store.

I use the Make Art Station on almost every card I make. Here is a picture of Wendy Vecchi showing a close up of her stations in 2 sizes and available coordinating tools:
Next, I used a ruler and a Copic Multiliner and drew strings from each balloon.
The "WISHES" came from MFT's Big Birthday Dienamics:
I cut the letters twice from scrap white and once from MFT's Black Licorice  cardstock. Stacked them together with liquid adhesive and adhered the finished letters to the bottom third of the slimline card. The word "BIRTHDAY" and the inside sentiment comes from a retired MFT set called Delicious Birthday.
I left all embellishments off for I wanted this to be either a masculine or feminine card. These balloons came out so striking, I just love the card. Now I want to try all the other shapes in the stencils and use them mixed up, too!

If you are a card maker I hope you play along with the Summer School classes. The posts are due by August 14th and thanks...for visiting my blog and sticking to the end!
