Hi friends and welcome to a quick post with a slimline card for CCEE Stampers challenge:
Also, NBUS, too!
Several years back my daughter and I went to a Stamp Show at the Raleigh, NC Fairgrounds. Creek Bank Creations was one of the booths there and I was fascinated with their slimline dies and stamps. I was a lucky winner of $100 door prize and headed over to their booth and bought several, but sadly never used them. But now I have!
This card was stamped onto Ranger Inkssential Water Color Paper with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink. For me, this is the perfect combination of paper and ink for water coloring. The ranger paper has a textured side and a smooth side and it runs perfectly through my printer (when printing digital images). And it is bright white. I water colored the image with Derwent Inktense Water Color Pencils which you have seen me do numerous times. I just lay a light line of the color along the edge and pull it out with a damp brush.
The stamp set is large to fit a slimline card front and is called CBC Lighthouse Stamp. I also used Creek Bank Creations' Slim Stitched Rectangles. They are 6 dies and measure between 9" X 3.75" and 6.5" X 1.25". They seem larger than the ones I have in my stash from other suppliers. I also have their Ovals Stitched Slimline Dies which are unique. (Note: I am not affiliated with Creek Bank - these are just links so you can easily see and purchase if you'd like!)
No liquid glue was used at all for this card. I like a double-sided super adhesive as shown below for thick water color paper. Holds it nice and flat.
Thank you for joining me today and I hope you've been inspired to try a slimline card! They fit into a #10 Business Envelope and require 1 stamp in the US (if 1 oz. or less), Of course, you can make you're own envelope or buy them. MFT Stamps has just come out with a nice line of envelopes, Rainbow Garden Slimline Envelopes. Just waiting for mine to come in the mail. This won't be NBUS, for sure!

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
