Hi friends and welcome to The Card Concept Challenge for the first part of October called: Around The World. I was inspired by the image of the globe for the Clean and Simple card design.
I have been wanting to use this stamp set I picked up on an Etsy shop called: Mary Polanco Designs. I follow Mary's You Tube channel and enjoy her bright and easy style. When she discussed this stamp set made by a group of designers called The Collective Creators, I purchased it. I am also a decorative painter and am drawn to images with paint brushes.
Unfortunately, I can't find this stamp set anymore and Mary no longer has this set on her etsy shop. I am a member of the private Facebook Group for The Collective Creators Group, if you are interested in joining. I still wanted to use this set and this was the perfect challenge for it.
To begin I stamped the outline image and the world separately with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink onto Ranger's Inkssential Water Color paper and sprinkled it with Altenew's Crystal Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. By doing this the watercoloring will stay within the lines. It is water colored with Altenew watercolors, various colors.
This is almost a one layer card. The world image is cut with a die, but I ended up fussy cutting it anyway, for I couldn't find the perfect circle in my stash. The sentiment is from the set, too. The inside sentiment is from a retired My Favorite Things set called Rainbow Greetings. I thought it matched the front sentiment, perfectly.
Fairly short post for me this challenge. I just love to color and look forward to each and every challenge to just sit and enjoy the process. Come join us! We'd love to see what inspires you!
