Give Thanks - 3 Autumn Cards

Welcome, my friends, to The Card Concept Challenge "Give Thanks":
I was so inspired by the autumnal feel of the photo I ended up making 3 cards!
I started with Avery Elle's Fall Foliage Stamp and matching dies. This is a great set and on sale at Scrapbook.com, with a great price point, at the time I am writing this!
I used an embossing buddy/powder on Ranger's Inkssential Watercolor Paper - the smooth side. Next, using my MISTI stamping platform, I stamped all the coloring images with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink. While the ink was still wet I sprinkled Nuvo Crystal Clear Embossing Powder over it and heat set. This keep the coloring areas sort of "blocked off" from each other. I water colored the images with Altenew's 36 half pan watercolor set. This set has the most beautiful vibrant colors! Once the images were dry, I cut them with the coordinating dies.
The frame for the above picture was made by white heat embossing My Favorite Thing's Lined Up Diagonally Stamp. Once that cooled I ink blended with Altenew's large soft ink blending brush, 2 shades of Distress Ink onto it: Twisted Citron and Crushed Olive.
To create the frame I used 2 rectangles from my Kat Scrappiness Never Ending Rectangle Dies - taped them together about 1/2" apart and ran them through my Big Shot using the embossed panel I had created.
The center piece was created using Taylored Expression's card stock in a Buttercream Frosting color and my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System Thankful Plate. I joined the Glimmer Hot Foil Monthly Club to help build my stash of hot foiling plates. I have been using the system quite a bit lately, making labels for my daughter's shops. Fun to learn and gives me a lot of practice with different foils, different papers, etc.

I recently watched Tina Smith's of Cards and Coffee where she hot foiled acetate for homemade cookie bags. So cool.

The glimmer is amazing in real life. Here is a picture which captures it a little better:
I just sat down once all these bits were completed and played around until I was happy with the designs. That is really the fun part of card making. I had the design in my mind for the cover card, but created 2 more cards with no plan in mind. Just play until you like what you've created!
Autumn is a wonderful time to make cards for your friends and family. It's a good time to feel "Thankful, Grateful and Blessed"!
Come join us at The Card Concept Challenge...we'd love to see what you create!
