Whimsy Stamps Digi Xmas Ornament & A SALE

Hi friends! Today's blog is to play along with November's NBUS #20:

For my NBUS I have a digital stamp to use. Whimsy Stamps has a wonderful selection of, not only actual stamps, but also digital stamps. Here is one I recently picked up: Penguin Light Me Up:

Advantages of a digital stamp? 

 -You can receive it immediately - no waiting time and no shipping.

 -You can adjust to the size you need, as large or as small or both!

 -You can layer images and sentiments for an unique look.

 -You can print on any type of paper that will go through your printer. I like     Ranger's Inkssential Watercolor Paper on the smooth side. It is a nice bright   white. I use my Brother's Laser Printer manual feed to run it through. That way,   I  can watercolor without any bleeding.

 -Much cheaper than an actual stamp. 

For these projects, I colored the images with my Arteza Real Brush Pens. They color beautifully and I add just a touch of water with my watercolor brush to pull the color around.

The ornament was a die I have had in my stash for a long time. I don't have a link, but I am sure most of you have something similar in your stash and can adjust the digi to fit.

I die cut some vellum with the ornament, so I can lay it over the digital print to be sure I have the correct size. I wanted the little penguin to hang off the top. 

We are doing a Zoom Christmas Party with my Painting Chapter, Capital Area Decorative Artists, NC, in December. For our Ornament Exchange we play "Dirty Santa" where you can steal the ornaments from each other. Normally they are hand crafter/painted wood ornaments, but this year it is to be something light that can be put in a standard #10 envelope. My ornament fits perfectly! 

I also did another digi stamp of a chalet in a forest, so I am debating about which one to use. That is the beauty of a digi stamp - it will fit whatever shape you need and is inexpensive, so you can buy several to try out!

I love the inside sentiment on the card. It is from Stampingbella's Gnome on a Swing stamp set. I have used it many times for birthday cards, just general thinking of you cards, etc. It is not NBUS!

One more item to mention - the sentiment on the front came from a Tim Holtz Snarky Cat Stamptember set that was a limited edition and sold out. Tim has just designed a similar snarky cat set and I've linked it below if snarky if your thing! We love it!

For finishing touches, I cut a frame out of silver glitter card stock for the card and the ornament topper out of silver metallic card stock. Lastly, I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the lights and the penguin noses and a silver jelly roll pen for the lights.
