Honey Bees Stamps for Festive Celebrations

Welcome to Festive Celebrations for the Card Concept December 2020!

I was totally inspired by the candles and the black & gold textured designs to create my Mixed Media card. This was not a card I would normally create, but I am enjoying breaking out of my comfort zone and trying something new!

The background was created with Heidi Swapp's Gold Metallic Texture Paste (from my stash) over Tim Holtz Flourish Layering Stencil (THS032) on black cardstock. Once dry, I cut it into a layered panel size, so that a bit of the yellow-gold card stock was showing. I didn't want black on black. I am not sure you can notice in the pictures, but I used Jillian Vance's Basic Rectangle Backdrop Die Set. They leave a clean embossed edge that I really like for a classic look.
The poinsettias and candles are from Honey Cuts Winter Bouquet die set cut from cream colored card stock. But first, before cutting the poinsettias, I used Heidi Swapp's Gold Metallic Texture Paste again with Stampers Anonymous Mini Stencil Set #44 on the cream colored card stock. This gave more design and texture similar to the inspiration photo.
I used a bit of Ranger's Vintage Photo in the right side of the candle and the edges of the petals for a bit more depth. I tried to capture the shine here:
The sentiment is foiled using my Spellbinder's Glimmer Hot Foil System and the Shimmering Merry Christmas Sentiments. It comes with not only the sentiment plates, but also the dies to cut them out, too. Of course, the dies can be used for other sentiments, too.
I really love how this card developed and I encourage you to give challenges a try. The Card Concept's photo challenges are especially inspiring. I look forward to seeing your work!
