It's December already! Has 2020 gone slow or fast for you? Feels a little like Ground Hogs day for us all working from home now, but definitely more crafting time. Not missing the 1 1/2 - 2 hours per day commute, that is for sure!
We are onto NBUS Challenge #21 and yes, I still have plenty to share. My 45th (gasp!) wedding anniversary was at the end of November and I always like to give my husband a good laugh if I can. He gives me wonderful cards, purchased, but looks like someone made it. They have those heartfelt sentiments that brings tears to my eyes. Gets me every time.
My card started with this stamp: Studio Light Art By Marlene BM24:It reminded me in a way of tattoo art. Not usually a fan of tatoos, but I love to color and thought this would be a fun one. I stamped it onto a piece of Legion Stonehedge Polar White Watercolor Paper with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink and let dry. This watercolor paper is 90 lb. and lightweight which makes it perfect for a card front. I buy sheets and cut them down. It really is a great value and it watercolors beautifully!
I used my Ateza 96 piece set of the Real Brush Pens in bright and vibrant colors:
I wanted a square card and Hero Arts has a set of square infinity dies which have every layer you could ever need. I cut the front panel and the black layering panel with them.
I made the card base 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" and created by own envelope with my We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board. I have an older one I've used for years. Works like a charm!
The sentiments on the front came from a Spellbinders' clear set, but it doesn't seem available at this time. I bought it originally for the word "Sister". Of all my sets, I didn't have "sister"! I stamped the words also onto the Legion Stonehedge Watercolor Paper, so that the whites would match.
Now for the snarky, fun part. The front is "all business" but the inside!?! Here it is:
When I saw this I knew this would be for our anniversary this year! He had a really good laugh.
The inside sentiment is from Riley & Co We're Still Married which I purchased from Kat Scrappiness. They stock a whole line of funny Riley & Co stamps. I really enjoy them. They are red rubber and stamp like a dream.
Thanks for joining me for more Never Before Used Schtuff December 2020 and I hope I haven't offended anyone...It may not be your thing, but we had a good chuckle and with all that has happened in 2020 who doesn't need it?

Welcome
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.

Well, I happen to be a fan of it, Anita, and I my laughed my arse off! As soon as I hit publish on this comment I'm off to buy it. My Mister will love it, too, and our 50th is coming up in a month! It will be perfect. I'll make a beautiful elegant Golden Anniversary type of front panel and then have that on the inside, tee hee! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this at NBUS with everyone so I can copy your great idea!! BTW, I love the beautiful rainbow heart design you created for the front of your card! Happy Holiday Hugs and Happy Belated Anniversary! Darnell
ReplyDeleteThat’s so fun, Darnell! I hope he loves it and you have an amazing anniversary. 50 years! Wow...I’ve 5 to go to hit 50!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely MY kind of card - between the rainbow and the snarkiness, well, if I had a husband, I'd give this to him for sure! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Christi!
