Winter Warmth with Spellbinders

2021, friends and the start of a New Year with new challenges from The Card Concept! I was excited to see this picture for it had so many inspirational elements. After mulling it over for several days, I decided to use the cup and the colors to create my Clean and Layered card.
There is something so classic about this pattern. When I received the stamp I couldn't wait to play with it and try many many different colors. I wanted that "perfect" pink color and tried all the pinks I have. The winner was Simon Hurley's Piggyback Ink. I think it is just that warm pink that is so appealing.

I decided to mimic the cup from the photo, but from an overhead view, by using Spellbinder's Heart Latte die by Sharyn Sowell:

This was fun to create. The image is all die cuts. I cut them from Bristol Smooth Card Stock from Blick Art Materials. I buy the 11" X 14" pad and cut the sheets into the sizes I need.  It's a good value and wonderful for ink blending.
I took some time to get a perfect blend on the die cuts using Distress Inks - Candied Apple, Pumice Stone, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I wanted to mention about Tim Holtz's Distress Refresher. I have been watching Tim's Facebook's Live on Saturdays during the holidays. You can really pick up lots of tips and tricks from watching. Anyway, he talked about Distress Refresher. You spritz on your Distress Ink pads to refreshen and rehydrate. Good on other Distress products, too. I have had my Distress Inks for many years, so I really thought this was a good investment for $5.00 to keep my products in tip top shape. I hadn't heard of it before and wanted to mention it in case you haven't either.
The Spellbinder's Heart Latte Die is fun to play with and I debated about creating a shaker card, but decided to keep it fairly clean and simple. The houndstooth square background is popped up with fun foam and the spoon is also popped up with FSJ's foam squares cut into slivers for the handle.
The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Hug in a Mug stamp stamped with Scrapbook.com's Dark Chocolate Hybrid Ink. I like the Hybrid Inks for they dry very quickly and no smearing...ask me how I know!
I decided no more embellishments were needed. Just a classic square card. Thank you all for joining me and I hope to see your creation on The Card Concept site!
