Hi friends and welcome to the Card Concept Challenge #153 called Loads of Lavender.
I was inspired by the colors of lilac with a tad of green and the floral imagery for my Clean and Layered card.
To create the background, I smooched the lightest 4 colors from Altenew's Lilac Blossoms mini cube set onto the white Non Stick mat from my Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat.
This glass mat is a permanent addition to the top of my craft desk. The grid lines are always so helpful and glass is so easily cleaned. I make a lot of cards with white bases and am constantly vigilant to keep my hands and working area clean. FYI - my tip for removing ink from fingers is LAVA soap. I use a good hand cream each time I wash my hand because LAVA can be a little rough.
Back to the card background! Once the colors were smooched down I gave them a bit of a spritz with water. I picked up a piece of left over packaging and dabbed it into the ink and then on a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock. I also spritzed with water a bit, too so that the ink would move naturally.
Once dry, I gave it a good splattering with the same colors, just watered down using my Tim Holtz splatter brush and Splat box. The vases were die cut from paper created by ink blending the lilac colors onto card stock. The set used is a retired set from SugarPea Designs called Breakfast in Bed. It is still available at the Not 2 Shabby Shop at a very deep discounted price:
The flowers came from the same set, stamped, colored and die cut. A couple of strips of Altenew's Sweet Pea Washi Tape helped complete the sketch.
The outside sentiment is from SugarPea's Floral Envie:
So that is my lilac inspired card for today. And yes, I am "So Grateful For You"!
Hope to see you at The Card Concept Challenge!
Super cute Anita. As you probably know, we have lots of lavender.
