Peace on Earth with MFT

Welcome to the Card Concept Challenge #165 called Peace on Earth. The image of the wreath and the colors inspired me to create my Clean and Layered card.
I love the MFT set called Winter Songbirds and have been wanting to use this stamp & coordinating die set for awhile.
I started with a retired MFT background stamp called Woodgrain. I stamped it on Hero Arts Premium Dove White Cardstock with Scrapbook.com's Hybrid Ink Camel - Tan 2 because I wanted a subtle background for the birds.
The Winter Songbirds were stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Altenew Obsidian Black Ink and sprinkled with Altenew's Crisp Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I watercolored them with Daniel Smith's Watercolor Dot Palette.
I stamped the sentiments from the retired hero Arts My Monthly Hero October 2019 with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink, by favorite ink for its crisp dark lines. The songbirds and floral images were all cut with their matching dies and placed in a circle wreath, some popped up, some flat.

Lastly, I used Altenew's Enamel Dots Red Cosmos and Honey Bee Gem Stickers - Summer Stems for some bling. I love this card! Just my style and I want to make more...maybe for a winter birthday cards.
Come join us at the Card Concept Challenge if you have time during this busy season. We'd love to see your work!

Light Up Card with Winnie

Welcome to December 2021 The Paper Funday Challenges where Anything Goes with an optional twist: Holiday Time. Our sponsors for this month are Besties and Polkadoodles.

For this month we are also partnering with Double Trouble Challenge #99:

All great fun!
I started with this digital stamp from Polkadoodles called Lantern - Winnie White Christmas Printables:
It was printed on our Brother Laser Printer on watercolor paper and watercolored with The Stamp Market's 24 Pan Color Crush Watercolor Palette:
Beautiful vibrant colors that blend perfectly. The lantern was colored in with a silver metallic pen and the background has Brutus Monroe's Glitter Glaze brushed through the Confetti Toss Stencil by Taylored Expressions:
The background paper in red is from Polkadoodles, too. It is from Work & Play 5 Festive Hollybobs:
What I love about digital paper is that it can be re-sized to fit as needed. I've used this paper quite a lot this year for cards, gift card holders, envelopes and tags. There are 5 different colors of this particular image in the Work & Play 5 Festive Hollybobs set, but there are 22 different designs with 5 colors each! It is an amazing bargain and so versatile, too.
The fun part begins now! I added Pear Blossom lights to the lantern (see the little PUSH ME) tag on the card. These are so easy to add and make a card so special.
You just need to make the card with foam on the inside to make it high enough to hold the battery and cords. It's similar to making a shaker card. Then I just poked 3 holes in the lantern with a sharp tool and fed the lights through them.
So fun and with Polkadoodles' digital stamps it makes cardmaking a breeze. A big thanks to our sponsors this month.
Happy Holidays everyone and I look forward to seeing your beautiful work on the challenge!
