Hi friends - Today I have a couple of cards for Father's Day both made with A Colorful Life Designs' Stencil called Primitive Fish.
Here is the stencil picture from the website for A Colorful Life Designs:
You know if I make one card, I make at least two or three. For this card I was playing with Ranger Ink's Distress Oxides: Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, Prize Ribbon and Mowed Lawn and ink blended through the Primitive Fish Stencil onto Hammermill Smooth Paper.
The fish image is from a Jessica Lynn Original stamp set called Fishing On Phantom Lake.
Just a unique colorful background with a simple focal point for a masculine card for Dad.
The card below was more of a mixed media version. I sprayed a piece of Vicki Boutin's American Crafts All the Good Things Foundation Paper Mixed Media Paper: I used Pixie Spray on the back of the Primitive Fish stencil, waited just a minute, then laid the stencil onto the mixed media paper rolling the stencil down with my Tim Holtz Medium Brayer.
The white circles are a snippet of a die by Art by Marlene Studio Light BM02, seems to be discontinued. I just wanted another layer of somethin' somethin'.
The sentiments inside and out are from Waffle Flower's Stamp Set: Home Brew.Happy Father's Day is just perfect in this font:

Two fab cards with that fish stencil, Anita! Especially love the mixed media version - great colors! Ugh, I feel enabling coming on to get that stencil - off to check it out...Thanks for playing again at NBUS!! Linda Guest Designer
ReplyDeleteLOL Linda! Thanks so much and I hope you use my coupon for the discount if you do buy!
DeleteWhat a fabulous snippets card Anita - in fact both are gorgeous! O love your white circles die cut you added to your snippets entry - it looks just like well behaved bubbles - along with the amazing background. I expect you'll find we're not so well behaved in the Snippets Playground though!

WOW - love all the luscious inkyness on both of these cards. The addition of the white circle snippets on the second card is great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground. Come and find me up in the (virtual) Treehouse for a cocktail or two! Help me test out some Jubilee recipes! xxx
