Paper Funday Challenge for June! 1/2 of the year 2022 almost gone - how is that possible?
I made 2 cards with the digital image from one our sponsors, Varada Sharma, called Flower Arrangement 2. This is such a beautiful image and easy to color, too.
Did you ever start out making a card with an idea and make a complete turn and do something else? I planned to watercolor the images and just add a sentiment. I printed the digital stamp onto Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper on the smooth side with my Brother Laser Printer. For watercoloring, a laser printer is needed so the ink doesn't run.
I am back working in the office now so my watercoloring time is on my lunch hour. Here are the supplies I carry to work everyday: Daniel Smith 238 Watercolor Dot Cards - flat, portable and tons of choices! Faber Castell Collapsible Water Cup folds flat and holds plenty of water for lunchtime coloring:
Silver brushes - Black Velvet size 6 and 8:
What I ended up doing was watercoloring the image on the left (below), but not totally for the one on the right. I left the leaves uncolored.
I used a stamp from my stash by Stampendous called cling Vintage Contract which I believe is retired, but they have another similar one call Vintage Letter which is still available. For the card on the left I stamped with Scrapbook.com Charcoal Hybrid Ink - very subtle background. The card on the right was stamped with Versamark Ink and sprinkled with Ranger Ink's Princess Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.
The sentiments come from Spellbinder's Mini Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil set. Just love gold on these cards!I like the leaves left in black on white:
Thanks for joining me today, Happy June and come join us at The Paper Funday Challenge - Anything Goes! And a special shout out to Varada Sharma for being our sponsor and sending the gorgeous designs to the team! Be sure to check out their shop.

These are gorgeous and I love the idea of stamping with vintage script. I cannot decide which I like better because I love them both! Thanks for creating another set of wonderful team projects for The Paper Funday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Donna! You're very welcome!
DeleteI came over to say thank you for your lovely comment about my card and see that you have been doing some wonderful watercolouring yourself on these beautiful flowers, and I love both versions, but I think the gold embossed script has the edge as it just adds that little extra something to the finished design...what a great way to spend your lunch hour at work. x
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat! I really appreciate you taking time to read my blog and comment!
