Two Blooms for a Wedding Card

Hi friends...I've been away for a bit for various reasons, but the best one is my grand-daughter got married last weekend! Lovely lovely wedding and it was so good to see so many friends and family.

To create this card, I used 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs...Two Blooms Wildflower and Milky Way. For the Milky Way background, I used Ranger's Distress Ink in Pumice Stone and for the Two Blooms Wildflower 4 Distress Inks: Kitsch Flamingo, Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive and Vintage Photo.
The great part about the Two Blooms Wildflower stencil is that you receive both the negative and positive. That made it a breeze just to set the stencil over the colored image to be used like a mask and ink blend the background stencil. So easy!
The sentiment is created on my Spellbinder's Glimmer Hot Foil Machine with Silver Glimmer Hot Foil. The sentiment itself is from a Spellbinders set called More Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

I think this would make a great wedding card...I must in in the wedding mode now! Thanks for joining me and if you want to purchase these or any amazing stencils from A Colorful Life Designs, use my code AnitaFan10 for 10% off your entire order (excluding bundles).

Separate Ways - 3 Ways

Don't you just love a good basic stencil that can be used in multiple ways? Separate Ways by A Colorful Life Designs is perfect no matter which way you turn it!
I used the same stencil, Separate Ways, to make 3 cards. I did use Pixie Spray on the back for a good tight adherence. The birthday card shown below has Ranger Ink Distress Oxides: Salvaged Patina and Squeezed Lemonade ink blended through the stencil. The littles are from Simon Say Stamp Critter Crowd - NBUS for me!
All 3 cards were made with Bristol Smooth Paper. Images were stamped on Ranger Ink's Distress Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper with Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink and sprinkled with Altenew's Crisp Clear Embossing Powder and heat set. I used both Daniel Smith's 238 dot cards and Kuretake Zigs Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor all the images.
The ink blending for "Unicorn to my Rainbow" is also from Ranger Ink, but Distress Inks: Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey and Salty Ocean. The unicorn is from Simon Says Stamp: Magical Birthday and Julie Ebersole's Pure Magic stamp set for the sentiment.
For the "Make Today a Glitter..." I used the same Distress Inks but added a Distress Oxide: Wilted Violet. The images are from a LDRS set I bought off of HSN called Tea Time Fairies. Aren't they just the cutest? Tiny but sweet.
Seriously, the Separate Ways stencil could be used so many ways. Check out A Colorful Life Designs website for more inspiration! And if you do shop, please use Anita Fan10 for 10% off your entire purchase (not applicable on bundles). Thanks so stopping by.

Paper Funday with Alex Syberia

Hello friends and welcome to July 2022 challenge at The Paper Funday Challenges. I went with a Christmas theme and made 2 ornaments and a tag.
One of our sponsors this month was Alex Syberia Designs. Her designs are just beautiful and I choose the Christmas Bouquet Digital Stamp. It is just such a lovely image and appealing layout. All 3 projects today were downloaded in Word, resized and then printed with my Brother Laser Printer onto Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper. It's a nice white, sturdy paper and watercolors beautifully.
All images were watercolored with Daniel Smith's 238 Dot Set of watercolors. I love these cards! I color at work on my lunch hour and they travel nice and flat and I have tons of choices. I discovered some new favorites that I plan to eventually buy the tube itself.
I found a small grapevine wreath in my stash and I thought this image would layered beautifully on the back for an ornament. The digital watercolored image was die cut with a large circle die and once again with another piece of gold card stock. The gold was layered in the back, facing forward. This was for sturdiness and to fill in the blank areas, for this grapevine wreath is not a perfect circle. I added a little red bow that I created with an old bow die cut I had in my stash with hot glue.

For this ornament I die cut the image and green glitter card stock (Retired Stampin' Up! stash) with the Honey Cut Dies: Globe & Ornament Shaker.
Here is the Honey Cut die set...lots of versatility for projects.
The smallest image and my favorite coloring was this one shown below die cut with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Circle Tags. I usually color 1 to 3 images of the same digital stamp and by the time I get to the 3rd one, I know the colors I like the best.
I love these little tags for gifts at any time of the year. I plan to cut the same tag again to create a backer for the watercolor piece. That will help keep it flat and I'll have a nice smooth area to stamp a sentiment.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you think about how you could create ornaments or tags with your creations. Come join us at The Paper Funday Challenge in July - Anything Goes!

Spinning Lines Stencil 3 Ways

It's July and there is a new release from A Colorful Life Designs! I choose this Spinning Lines Stencil to create a Home Decor item and 2 cards.
With the card below the stencil is ink blended with Ranger Ink's Distress Oxide: Peacock Feathers and Wild Honey:
This little guy from above is from Pink and Main Too Cool stamp and coordinating die set (retired).
I used Lawn Fawn Stencil Paste Gold onto an 8" square panel I had purchased at Michaels years ago. The wings and heart are from Spellbinders Love in Flight die set (retired). I cut the wings from white glitter paper and the heart from Pink and Main Holographic Cardstock Set 1.
In this picture you can see the depth of this panel. I also used the embossing paste along the sides for continuity.
For this card I cut part of the ink blended stencil with the Tim Holtz Deckle Edge Trimmer:
The cute little monkey is from Pink & Main's Party Animal Stamp Set and coordinating die. Both Pink and Main Images are stamped on Ranger Ink's Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper and Altenew's Obsidian Black Ink and sprinkled with Altenew's Crisp Clear Embossing Power and heat set. They were watercolored with Kuretake Zigs Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

Thanks for joining me today - this stencil has such great movement and works well for card making or home decor. Please use AnitaFan10 for 10% off your entire order at A Colorful Life Designs website! (Not good on the bundles for they are already discounted).

SheepSki Designs for Paper Dragonfly

Welcome to the Paper Dragonfly Creative Challenge #7 for July 2022! Our generous sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs and the image I chose is called Huddle Image No. 127.  You have to create Christmas in July, right?
I decided to go with a slimline card since the image lent  itself to be fairly large.
This cute cute image was printed on Ranger Ink's Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper on a laser printer.
I watercolored with Daniel Smith's 238 Dot Cards - just love the variety in this set. I used Wink of Stella to give some sparkle here and there.
So from my family to yours - Happy Holidays in July! Come join us at The Paper Dragonfly Challenge this month. Love to see what you create!

Four Seasons Guest Designer

Welcome to The Four Seasons Challenge Summer July 2022! I am delighted to be their Guest Designer this month and just loved this inspiration board:
I am such a fan of red, white and blue anything and my card reflects those colors:
I  started with Blue Corn Card Stock from Taylored Expressions. I really enjoy using this deep deep blue card stock which is also 100 lb. weight! This is my favorite weight - not too sturdy to create a nice fold for a card base AND holds up to mixed media applications.
Which is exactly what I started with to create the base. I have this star stencil in my stash and I applied a layer of Altenew Embossing Paste and let dry. Next, I die cut all 7 pieces from Sizzix's Brushstroke Flowers #1 by Tim Holtz in white card stock. Leaving the die cuts in the panels I ink blended (I use Scrapbook.com's Foam Blending Tools) all the pieces with various Distress Inks - reds, pinks, yellow and greens trying to create a variety.
If you're not familiar with the Taylored Expressions Strips Stamps and Dies - they work together as a single unit to stamp once and die cut once. The matching die cut for the Mini Strips cuts all of the sentiments at once - just line up the squares on the side. And very quickly you have multiple sentiments ready for future projects.
Taylor also has storage containers for the strips with inexpensive labels to identify the sets for she has many!
And they also have a free downloadable spreadsheet of all the Simple and Mini Strips available. Can't ask for more than that!
Thank you for joining me today and I want to thank the Four Season Challenge Group for inviting me to Guest Design! Hopefully you'll be inspired and submit some of your creative work - it is a month long challenge...you have lots of time!
