A Little About Me…
I am a wife of 48 years married to my best friend, Mike. He has always been my biggest supporter. We have 3 beautiful daughters and 2 wonderful grandchildren. Also, I am a college graduate, still working full time, and trying to squeeze in every crafting moment possible. While the girls were growing up, I was an avid quilter and eventually discovered “tole” painting (now called Decorative Painting). I have been a long-term member of the Society of Decorative Painters and have belong to various chapters in several states. We have lived in 4 different states over our married life and the first 2 things I usually do when we move is to join: 1) the local painting chapter and 2) the local library.
What does that have to do with stamping? I also was a Stampin’ Up! customer for years and attended many “open houses”. More recently as “Sunshine Chair” for my Raleigh, NC SDP Painting Chapter, I rediscovered the joy of stamping, coloring and sharing homemade kindness. The cards I sent to the members were well received and the notes I received back, often brought a tear to my eye. It seems they were received at just the right time to give some comfort. A handmade card in the mail seems to have become a rare species.
Working with my hands, whether it is papercrafting, stamping, painting, cross-stitching, zentangling or quilting - brings joy to my life. I love color in all its various forms.
I believe if we work at our chosen craft, we will succeed. Winston Churchill said: “Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential.”
I hope you can join me on my “continuous effort”!
Sincerely,
Anita
